On November 17th, Michael Brophy, President of Hilbert College in the U.S., visited Shenyang Jianzhu University. Xia Baishu, Vice President and member of the Party Committee, welcomed Brophy during the meeting.

Xia Baishu expressed a warm welcome to Michael Brophy and expressed hope for a mutually beneficial collaboration between the two universities. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential areas of future cooperation, focusing on short-term student exchanges and a "2+2" joint degree program. Xia assured Brophy of the university’s full support for the partnership and looked forward to swiftly finalizing the cooperation agreement. Michael Brophy, honored to return to the university, provided detailed insights into the academic and living experiences of Shenyang Jianzhu University students at Hilbert College. Xia thanked Hilbert College for its care and support of the students and extended an invitation for Hilbert College faculty and students to visit Shenyang Jianzhu University next year for an exchange program. Brophy gladly accepted the invitation, confirming plans to send Hilbert students to Shenyang Jianzhu University for a semester-long exchange in the upcoming spring term.

Following the meeting, Michael Brophy delivered a lecture to over 100 undergraduate and translation master’s students from the School of Foreign Languages. He gave an overview of Hilbert College’s academic offerings, campus environment, and cultural activities, encouraging more Chinese students to study and exchange at Hilbert. Brophy also addressed various student questions about studying and living abroad, fostering a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Hilbert College, established in 1957, is a private liberal arts college located in Hamburg, New York. It offers an ideal geographic location and a beautiful campus environment, featuring apartment-style student housing and modern academic, administrative, and athletic facilities. The college offers bachelor's and master's degrees, with major programs in Accounting, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, Digital Media and Communication, English, Political Science, and more.

The meeting was attended by relevant directors from the School of Foreign Languages and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
