On April 29th, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the School of Foreign Languages at Shenyang Jianzhu University co-hosted a public lecture by foreign experts in Room 301 of the administration building. The university invited Professor Carlos Ferran from Governors State University, one of the university's partner institutions, to deliver an insightful lecture for the students.

Professor Carlos Ferran’s lecture, titled “Developing High-Quality Online Learning,” covered key topics such as “What is online learning,” the advantages and disadvantages of online education, the importance of online learning, the distinction between explicit and tacit knowledge and how to transform between them, as well as strategies for improving the efficiency of online learning. His presentation deepened students’ understanding of online education.

After the lecture, students engaged in a lively Q&A session with Professor Ferran, where he addressed their questions and provided valuable insights.

This event enriched the students’ knowledge of online learning and development while fostering an international academic atmosphere at the university, broadening their global perspectives. Many students expressed that the lecture gave them a deeper understanding of online learning and provided practical guidance for their future studies, stating that they benefited greatly from the session.

Carlos Ferran, Ph.D., is a professor of Accounting and Management Information Systems at Governors State University, where he also serves as Director of Accreditation and Assessment. He has extensive teaching experience in countries including Argentina, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, the United States, and Venezuela.
