On January 4, Zhu Wei, director of Shenyang Representative Office of Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau, and deputy director Wang Tianyu visited Shenyang Jianzhu University accompanied by Li Songtao, director of Hong Kong and Macau Department of the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, and Guo Dongdong. Chairman Dong Yukuan and Vice-President Li Yupeng met with the delegation. The responsible colleagues of President (CPC) Office, International Exchange and Cooperation Office and International School attended the meeting.

During the meeting, on behalf of SJZU, Dong Yukuan welcomed the delegation’s visit and thanked Shenyang Representative Office of Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau and Hong Kong and Macau Department of the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government for their strong support to SJZU. He pointed out that as the first university Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau and the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government visit in 2022, it shows fully recognition of SJZU’s work in Hong Kong and Macau. SJZU is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) in science and technology, culture, industry, education, research and application, etc., to enhance mutual understanding through continuous exchanges, and jointly discuss the ways to better share the resources of SJZU in the fields of talent, science and technology, culture and education with the GBA.

Zhu Wei thanked SJZU for its sincere invitation and warm reception. She briefly introduced the development of the GBA, especially Macau. She said that she would willing to cooperate with our school in three aspects in the future. First, she would build a cooperation platform between SJZU and Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau to conduct exchanges and cooperation in new energy and photovoltaic buildings. Second, to set up cooperation between SJZU and the universities in Macau, especially with the University of Macau in civil engineering. Third, they will assist SJZU to conduct cooperation and exchanges with universities and enterprises in the GBA in the fields of industry, education, research and application, including scientific and cultural exchanges and the transformation of scientific research achievements.

Li Songtao said that through research, the government can better serve the universities, find out the appropriate points and cut entrances, and do a better job in service. He hopes that their visit will help SJZU further promote high-quality development and help to build an exchange platform between SJZU and the GBA.

During their visit, the delegation visited SJZU’s representative achievement bases such as Huipai Architecture, He Changgong Exhibition Hall, Bawang Academy, Shiwang Mansion, Photovoltaic Energy-saving Building Demonstration Center, Civil Structure Laboratory and Elder Care Experience Test Center, and showed SJZU’s unique characteristics and scientific research concept. The delegation fully affirmed the transformation speed of SJZU in construction related fields, appreciated SJZU for keeping up with the pace of the times, raising the teaching reform to a new level and raising the scientific research level to a new height. The delegation said that they would take this visit as an opportunity and help SJZU’s scientific and technology achievements and exchange talents to radiate the whole GBA.
