English Program

This program is established to foster the students to have a solid foundation of English, a higher integrated competence of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation, a wider range of knowledge of science and culture, and better cultural accomplishment. Have the students be familiar with the history of architecture. At the same time, some courses relating to architecture are also offered to provide the students with the theory of architecture to some extent, with the knowledge of architectural design, construction and management, and with a strong competence in computer application. The ultimate goal is to foster the students to become English-based integrated personnel with solid basic skill of English, wide range of knowledge, and high degree of plasticity. Thus they will meet the requirements of the architectural markets home and abroad.

There are rich resources of teachers, modernized teaching establishment, multi-functional digitized language laboratories, foreign language learning center, and electronic reading room, which provide the students with the learning environment of network and TV.

Main courses: Basic English, Advanced English, Phonetics, Visual-listening, Oral English, Writing, Lexics, Translation, Linguistics, General Situation of England and America, Literature of England and America, Appreciation on Literature of England and America, Contrast and Comparison on Literature of England and America, Scientific English, Writing Relating to Foreign Affairs, Basic Knowledge of Law, International Engineering Management, Architectural English Reading, Building Construction, Computer Application, College Chinese, the Second Foreign Language, etc.

The graduates of this program are competent to work at jobs relating to foreign affairs in the trades of construction and architecture, and to work at teaching, translation, management and trade in the other fields relating to foreign affairs.

The enrollment will take a consideration on the English scores.
