This program is established to foster advanced technicians who have solid basic theory, strong adaptability and high integrated quality and who are provided with related knowledge and application ability on ground survey, space survey, photographic survey & remote sensing, map compilation and geographical information system.
The students will have a comprehensive grasp on the basic theory of surveying and mapping engineering through systemic study and fundamental training. They are provided with wide engineering background knowledge and the ability to independently solve complicated engineering problems in practical work besides creativity.
Main courses: fundamentals of topography, fundamentals of measurement adjustment, theory of modern error compensation, control survey, GPS principles and applications, engineering surveying, special and precise engineering survey, digital photogrammetry, remote digital image processing, digital mapping, land management and cadastral survey, geographical information system principles and applications.
The graduates of this program are competent to work in branches of national economy on national fundamental survey construction, engineering construction, urban planning and construction, territorial resources planning and management, natural resource development and management, environment protection and disaster prevention, and delivery means navigation and management for land and water. They are also competent to be engaged in survey engineering design and implementation and management, construction of geographical information system, scientific research on survey, and education. They are suitable to be working in the fields of engineering construction, town planning and territory management.
