This program is established to foster advanced specialists on research, teaching, technology and management work in mechanics and other related field. Besides the necessary fundamental knowledge on mathematics and physics, the students will learn basic theory on mechanics and professional knowledge on certain direction. Training on experiment and computer application ability is strengthened, and the ability on theoretical analysis and mechanics is focused on. Having gained fundamental training of scientific research and engineering technology application, the students are provided with good scientific attainment.
The students will have a comprehensive grasp on basic speculative knowledge of mechanics and related subjects as constructional engineering, material engineering and mechanical engineering through systemic study. They are provided with systemic solid mathematics and mechanics foundation and the ability of theoretical analysis on computer application and experiment. With a large range of engineering knowledge and basic engineering training, the students are able to independently solve problems on complicated engineering structure analysis in practical work. They are provided with creativity.
Main courses: theoretical mechanics, mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, elastic mechanics, hydromechanics, experimental mechanics, structural dynamics, finite element method, program design and application, reinforced concrete structure, introduction to civil engineering, and civil engineering materials.
The graduates of this program are competent to carry out scientific research, technology development, experimental research and engineering management in industrial enterprises on various mechanics related projects as mechanism, civil engineering, traffic, material, power source, water conservancy, chemical engineering and aerospace. They are competent to do theoretical research and experimental research in aerospace research institute, water conservancy designing institute, architecture designing institute, metal research institute and automation research institute. They are also able to be engaged in teaching and research in institutes of higher learning and secondary specialized schools.
